“We were sailing up the Moray Firth to take a yacht to Seaport Marina on the Caledonian Canal in early July 2007. I had phoned the office and Lucy had answered all our questions about access to the canal, lock times, tides etc. The trip up the Firth took longer than we had anticipated and we started to have the tide against us. We phoned the office again and then the lock keeper phoned us back and said that although he should go home at 18.00 he would wait for us to arrive. If we had missed the lock that night we wouldn't have been able to get in the lock until 12.00 next day. The lock keeper was cheery and welcoming when we arrived despite having kept him waiting over half an hour. Next morning we went up to the marina and then Lucy organised a berth for us and a taxi to the station so we could catch the train we were booked on. All the BW staff were enornmously helpful and certainly went the extra mile.”add response
