what else we do

If it exists in Scotland and has any kind of tourism connection, then we’ll know about it, almost certainly have visited it, probably written about it, or sent film crews or journalists there, or perhaps even marketed it. We supply our clients with sound and well-researched copy on Scotland. We know about visitor attractions from the sharp end. We get our facts right. Everything we do is based on product knowledge and experience of Scotland.

My Korean press group in GlencoeWe are experts in information about Scotland . We supply VisitScotland, VisitBritain and the travel trade, as well as publishers, with accurate copy for a variety of media, including guidebooks and websites. We devise, guide and organise media trips for film crews, journalists, photographers and travel writers world-wide. We deliver tourism marketing and training.

Our travel media service is 24/7 - a fact which is particularly appreciated by the journalist or film crew who has a contact at all times during their time in Scotland .

Our copywriting and information provision ranges from magazine features to full-scale Scottish guidebooks, as well as tourism promotional literature.

News for Oct 09 - the VisitScotland publication Real Scotland, A Locals' Guide has just won Gold in the Scotland CIPR PRide Awards 'publication category' - Gilbert wrote 90% of the copy for this award-winning publication!

Our trade and visitor attraction expertise includes delivering training courses for anyone in the industry seeking to increase their product knowledge, as well as practical know-how and advice on many aspects of running a visitor attraction from customer care to media relations.

Some of our projects:

Jan 2009: Gilbert and Johanna worked on the planning of a major photographic shoot on the theme of Homecoming Scotland in conjunction with National Geographic and VisitScotland International Marketing. We scouted locations and planned the daily 8 day schedule which took in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perthshire and the isle of Islay.

Some recent clients include Robert Gordon's University (The Aberdeen Business School). We have just completed a major project researching and writing tourism case studies for their new tourism training website www.trainingfortourism.com

We have also worked on projects for The Moray Firth Partnership, VisitScotland, VisitBritain, Landmark Press and HIE Moray.

In October 2007, on behalf of VisitScotland, Johanna planned two post-conference group press trips for forty writers and photographers from the Society of American Travel Writers.  Great feedback revealed that this was the best post-conference tour they had ever attended giving them lots of ideas for features.

Delivered PR services for major waste-water treatment developments along the Moray Firth Coast on behalf of United Utilities working with key stake holders and local community groups.

Guest lecturer, Communication Course at Napier University, Edinburgh, then at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Guest speaker at variety of clubs and societies on numerous Scottish topics.

Joanna Allen, Media Relations, VisitBritain (US) - April 2009

Hello Johanna, I have returned Virginia from my fantastic research trip through Scotland and want to thank  you for putting together such a successful itinerary for me. Truly, everything - even the weather and flights - moved like a precision timepiece. We accomplished my heritage list and much more. It was most fulfilling. Iona will forever linger in mind, but so will many other stops like Rosslyn Chapel and the ancient abbey sentinels still standing to testify about the centuries.  Ruth A Hill - October 2008

Dear Johanna, Tony had the highest praise for everything you did before and during the (sea kayaking) trip to make it all happen. Many, many thanks for all your hard work and flexibility.  Andrew Todhunter for National Geographic Traveler Magazine www.andrewtodhunter.com  - June 2008
